Sainsbury's launch their GiroVend MYRIAD cashless Payment Solution

Sainsbury, the UK’s longest standing major food retailing chain, has installed the market leading GiroVend cashless payment system into their head office. The Sainsbury staff, together with McClellan International, their catering contractor, welcomes the introduction of the GiroVend solution into their main restaurant and deli café facilities.
The restaurant and café has already operated with the GiroVend SAPPHIRE cashless payment solution since 2001, but the upgrade to MYRIAD opens up new possibilities in product control and back office management. The new functions include tracking purchases, which can help with menu planning, support stock control and allow the caterers to establish when their busiest periods are.
“Better management information is very useful and will lead to improved menu planning and also help reduce waste”, said Bob Kitchen, Central Location Infrastructure Manager at Sainsbury.
The GiroVend system is completely scalable and can be linked across multiple locations, which could open up possibilities should Sainsbury wish to extend the GiroVend solution across other buildings located around the country.
